2 Types of Test
-Norm-Referenced Tests
-Criterion Referenced Tests

3-Take-A-ways
-A single test by itself does not measure your child.
-The best way to prepare for standardized testing is to create a habit of learning.
-Keep standardized testing results in perspective.

Default Sight Words

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

As can be said for most areas of English for little learners, some children have absolutely no problem when it comes to picking up reading skills, while some kids really struggle to get going, and we can understand why! While some words in a book can be sounded out by children, as we all know, English is full of exceptions, and sight words are one of them. These are all the words in a text that cannot be sounded out, and must simply be learnt, for your child to understand at least half of the words in a text, which can be tricky if your child, like most others, doesn’t want to sit and learn words off by heart.

Default The immportance of Coding

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

In this day and age, as the electronic industry continues to develop at rates faster than ever before, digital technology bombards us wherever we turn, with the digital and electronic job market growing exponentially in order to keep up with the demand. As a child, emphasis in education was placed on Maths, English and Science rather than skills which would assist me to develop in today’s market, but as schools begin to catch on to the necessity of instilling digital skills into the next generation, we talk about coding.

Default Spare the rod, spoil the child.

Spare the rod, spoil the child.
Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

As a child growing up in the 90s, one of the most common phrases mentioned about the younger generations that I can remember was ‘children should be seen and not heard’, placing a strict emphasis on the idea of children being obedient, polite to others, rarely causing a fuss in a public location, whilst listening to and respecting their elders....
